DREAM NOW ENTREPRENEURS CLUB
On February 27, 2014, President Barak Obama launched the "My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Intiative, a call to action to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensure all young people can reach thier full potential. In February 2016, the Administration announced the creation of new STEM and entrepreneruship tracks within MBK. A number of community organizations were selected as community partners and challenged to expand STEM and entrepreneurship opportunities in various communities. The McMikle Group was named as one of those community partners. The Entrepreneur's Club was born out of that commitment.
The Entreprenuer's Club is an introduction to the concept of business ownership that will allow students to gain an understanding of entrepreneurship as a viable career choice and motivate movement towards a greater exploration of that reality.
THE D.R.E.A.M. NOW Program and our community partner, Hartford Economic Development Corporation, (HEDCO, Inc) conduct a year long program where students design and develop a business concept, prepare a business plan and market their proposal. The best ideas receive funding to launch their project.
